Dedicated to any woman who's ever been a few pounds overweight
Sad, lonely Sharon Plunkett is size eighteen. She's tried every fad, every diet and every cream, but like stains of grease on a pure silk blouse, her rolls of fat refuse to budge. The man of her dreams isn't interested, and her skinny friend Debbee only uses her to look good.
But all that changes when Sharon magically finds herself in a fantastic, reversed world - where it's suddenly 'in' to be fat, and 'out' to be slim!
Fêted and adored for her curvaceous body and stunning looks, she goes from supermodel to Hollywood icon in a matter of months.
Until... it all starts to go very wrong.
A deliciously wicked satire, Fat Chance bites back at the 'skinny insanity' currently gripping the western world - Size Zero, celebrity weight-obsessed magazines, the fashion and advertising industries, high society and Hollywood.

FULL REVIEW
Sharon is fed up with being fat and will try anything in her quest to lose weight, except exercising and eating less.
When a leaflet comes her way promising to have the cure for being overweight forever, she can't resist.
She visits Dr. Marvel in his private surgery in town and he gives her a potion - and overnight her life changes beyond all recognition.
She goes from being an ad agency admin girl to becoming the world's next supermodel, without losing an inch.
That's because in the world Sharon now inhabits big is beautiful and skinny is so last season. A funny, weird satire on size zero perfectionism - and I loved it.

FULL REVIEW
Poor Sharon Plunkett - size 18 and surrounded by skinny minnies, everything in life seems to sideline the plump and celebrate the slim. Until Sharon finds herself at Dr Marvel's Miracle Weight Clinic. She drinks the potion...and steps into a strange new world where advertising hoardings and magazines spill over with pictures of gorgeous size 20 celebs. Suddenly, life's on the up for 'Shaz'. With her platinum hair and voluptuous figure, she's the perfect model for Z&ZaK's ad campaign. She nets a footballer and becomes queen of the catwalk in the Big Doughnut. LA beckons as do the attentions of screen god Brett Stone. But Sharon didn't read all the instructions...Suddenly her jeans feel looser, she craves carrots not cream cakes. Imaginative, at times sad, Fat Chance turns our obsession with body image on its head. A perfect, filling winter read!
